First things last

I know, it is best to introduce oneself before actually getting down to the real stuff but then if you suck at introductions, you might as well leave them for later. By then anyways, people make all sorts of images of you in their heads, put in the thoughts that they want to be reflected back at them and make all sorts of decisions about your background, ethnicity, beliefs, financial status and more.
So when you enter a room, make sure you look everyone in the eye- i know it is not always possible because some have the nerve to wear dark shades (inside a room??) and I respect them for that and all that they are hiding because someone very dear to me does too! Your body language speaks very loud so- a straight spine, suck in that stomach- I do wish I had the washboard abs of Charlie's angels but alas you don't get everything.
Don't fidget, it is the weapon of the weak but it is also a reaction of a human being so it is perfectly alright if you do but don't for the sake of indulging yourself in a room where everyone knows at least someone (except you ofcourse) start playing with your mobile phone or cell phone. It is downright plain, it is what everyone does and it doesn't pass you off as a very busy businessman/ woman. If it does anything, it makes you one of the crowd and you are much above all that!
This introductory post is sounding like free advice but it is something I myself am constantly working on so here  it is: the very first time.
